Thirsties Natural Newborn

System: AIO with two sewed-in inserts, Newborn size / 2-6kg / 0-3 months

Look: Very nice, design and uni-colours available. They look tiny and slim!

Practicability: All-in-one – no need to say more. Use it, wash & dry it, use it again 😉 I love the velcro that makes a quick nappy change and perfect fit. The diaper is a little stiff but I had no leakage. It consists of 8 layers of natural fibres: 2 layers of organic cotton, 6 layers of hemp/organic cotton in the sewed-in inserts. The inserts are sewed-in at one end, you’ve got the possibility to fold them a bit if you’ve got a boy. Feel free to use further inserts if you think it’s needed.

How does it fit: The Newborn size is just great for my baby girl but I’m afraid she’ll soon grow out of it… Still, I’d always buy some Newborn sized diapers because bigger ones are always too bulky… I didn’t use the snaps but if you’ve got a very tiny baby, you’ve got the possibility to shorten the diaper.

Stay dry: I changed the diaper when it got wet. Due to the different layers, it wasn’t too wet. I think I could go well without this one diaper also for a longer period or car drives, with no need to change it asap. Soaking improved after 3-4 washes but I’ve read it will get even better after around 8 washes.

Wash and dry: Diapers can be washed at 60° and tumble dried low or line dried. Line drying needs some time to dry, I’d say a day at least.

Conclusion: very recommendable easy-to-use AIO for Newborns, even very tiny ones. I just prefer when a product is self-explanatory. I hate using diapers where I don’t know how to and need to read the manual before using them. Because a newborn mummy’s brain just doesn’t work accurately (you know, no sleep, focus on baby’s needs etc.). This said, this system is perfect to start your cloth diapering career 😉
