The time in your arms, at your breast, and in your bed is a very short time in the total life of your child, yet the memories of love and availability last a lifetime .” – Dr. William Sears

Nestwärme is a project of heart.
It is my aim to show parents (to be) and other related persons that in a world of growing distance, it’s possible to act different when it comes to parenting.

Today, most people who are expecting a baby put expensive items on their shopping list that they don’t really need: a stroller, a crib, bottle and formula, pacifier, playpen and loads of disposable diapers.

Women carry their planned child (aren’t they?) in their womb for around 40 weeks and can’t wait to say hello to their baby. But as soon as it is, the unconditional closeness they felt during pregnancy moves on to a routine lead by distance.

Today, most parents lay down their baby in a crib, in the stroller or a rocker quite often… Some babys even have to sleep in an own room, separated from their parents… The longingly wished for baby is only carried when it cries and sometimes not even then.

Why? Soon we hear that we shouldn’t spoil our babies or they will “control” us. We should let them cry as it “strenghtens their lungs”. “Don’t you run at every squawk your baby makes!”, the old generations insist. When they were new parents back in the days, they didn’t breastfeed when needed but followed a timetable to do so. It was important that the baby sleeps through the night as soon as possible. It shouldn’t disturb at all as parents had work to be done.

Our aim is to inform and to provide advice

Nestwärme - Tragemama mit schlafendem Baby im Tuch auf der Brust It’s different today. We do have time! Dishwasher and washing have taken over some work load. We do grocery and online shopping, order food. So why shouldn’t we take care of this tiny human being that doesn’t know what happened to him after leaving the cushy, dark and comfortable womb. Left alone, it desperately cries as it scares the hell out of it.

How should the baby now that its parents are close? A baby left alone is an easy snack for wild animals. Nature knows, primitive people knows but we forgot?

That’s why we want to inform and provide advice around the topics of Attachment Parenting: babywearing, breastfeeding, co-sleeping, diaper free and more…

Any questions left? Do you need advice? We’re here to answer. Just leave us a message and follow us on Social Media. Thank you so much!
