About the brand: Sonja is a very lovely mama from Austria who started sewing little thing for her kids and made a profession out of her hobby, naming her label Larali. All things she sells are close to the needs of parents as babynests, loops and beanies, babylegs, the babywearing cover and other. Have a look at her site to see what she’s offering.
Tested product: I’ve got the all-year wind- and waterproof Cover, suitable for all colder and/or wet days. The shell is thin and resistable, the filling is soft and cushy and the best is: you can choose from a various range of colours and designs! 🙂
Please also have a look at the lovely accessories shown, the beanie and cap we wear, they’re all from Larali, too! 🙂
Other available covers are summer, quilted and fleece (soon there might be one made of wool, too). They all look so lovely and individual, you want more than one if you have a look at them!
Very quick use of the Larali cover
Fit & practicability: The cover is adjustable by a drawstring and will fit to any kind of carrier. You can tie it with two cords on each side on top, next to the hood. If you’re wearing a wrap, be creative. But if you already know you’ll use it with a wrap, I’m sure, you can ask Sonja to use longer cords or a similar solution with ribbons to tie independently from your wrap (might be the need if you use a one-shoulder-carry).
The cover fits great with my baby and there’s still some space, I guess, for her to grow… I cannot say for how long though but if you’re wearing a toddler and use the cover, he or she will anyway probably wear some shoes, it’s no problem if the cover won’t protect the feet anymore. The cover can be put on quickly and used in front as well as on the back (just put it on your carrier directly before shifting the carrier on your back).
Weather suitability: I think the cover (and hood) are a great protection from windy weathers. If it’s raining, I’d still recommend to use an umbrella for you and the carrier because only your child will be protected but due to the shape of the cover as well as missing ribbons that go from the sides arround the babywearer the sides might open up a bit and rain or wind can probably still reach the child.
Especially older babies may also take their arms out and get wet, depending on what they’re wearing. Maybe, an additional buckled belt that can be closed around the torso of the babywearer, might be a nice solution for the all-year cover.
Great range for any purpose and beautiful design
Conclusion: Most beautiful and made-with-love Covers on earth so far! Great range for any purpose. Easy and fast use and put on. For babies, on front and back, and for toddlers. Just take it with you if you’re not sure how the weather turns out and your baby will be safe from harsh winds and cold 🙂
Tested in september 2017 with my 8 months old baby – thanks for the opportunity!
