About Löft Slings

Löft is a brand from Denmark, designing most beautiful Ring Slings (and wraps), handwoven in Nepal. The Story of Löft Basic (the range my Ring Sling is from) began with “two women – Shanti and Arati, who dreamed of starting their own weaving business.” Löft supported them, and together they “created this amazing organic collection”. To honor them, every sling is named after the weaver who has made the first sample.

Besides, Löft is offering a Limited Edition, too. All products support female empowerment and fair wage production in Nepal without exposing people or nature to dangerous chemicals. It’s all fine handwoven fair trade items with great quality, made of materials like organic cotton, Banana, Cashmere and Silk. Depending on the materials, the slings have different wrapping qualities.

My first impression: The Shanti Ring Sling is soft out ouf the box with a lovely texture, subtle herringbone pattern and fringes. Colours are black and white and Rings imprinted with “Löft Basic”. There’s a sewn on label. Timeless and unique design suiting every situation and perfectly woven. The best: it’s easy care. You can put it into the washing machine if necessary (it comes prewashed, so no worries about that…).

How does the Löft Ring Sling wear…

It’s amazing but despite other Ring Slings I’ve tried (and I’ve tried many) this one’s really easy to tie from the beginning. The cotton glides through the rings like nothing, making it a beginner friendly product. Yet, it’s supportive enough for toddlers with a lovely bounce and great grip.

I’m embedding a video below for you to have a closer look on how to use a Ring Sling and to ensure you of the amazing wrapping qualities I encountered with the Löft Shanti Pure. I can really recommend this Ring Sling to everyone. Check out the other products on the Löft website.

It’s more than a year ago when I’ve been able to test the Bishnu Original Gira from the Limited edition (pictures below). I still remember it’s amazing softness. That one was a bit thicker but still nice to use. If you’re looking for a more luxurious product, you should definitely have a look at the Limited Löft Ring Slings. I can tell you: if you’re owning a Löft Ring Sling, you won’t let go of it, it’s a piece of art and accompany you and your child for a long time…

Tested in february 2020. Thanks for the opportunity!
