About the brand: Volgasling has been founded by Anna Svetich who is also the weaver behind “Ethnic Seasons“, short: Eseasons, a handwoven brand. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence that my first handwoven custom ever was at Eseasons and was named by my daughter (by me, of course ;). I love how Anna is weaving her very own style and doesn’t necessarily follow the main stream.
My first impression: both Volgasling wraps arrived lovely packed in a bag made of wrap fabric. I just need to have “Melissa” as this is the name of my first daughter. Though Ulchi Melissa & Monochrome both have the Ulchi design, they feel and look a bit different. Monochrome seems to have a more textured surface wherease Melissa seems smoother and shinier. I love the design, it looks baroque & elegant! Look at the contrasting texture – wonderful!
How does it wear: I tested Ulchi Melissa. The wrap is pretty close to what I like: it’s mid-thick and grippy which makes it easy to wrap. It also contains some amount of stretch.
It’s already very supportive in a simple Ruck and also makes a very nice hold in a Double Hammock. I’m sure it’s toddlerworthy, too. It’s already quite soft after an initial wash but can still use some more love. 🙂
Conclusion: Ulchi Melissa is a pretty allrounder suitable for everyone and a nice match for elegant occasions of babywearing.
Tested in june 2018 with my 17 months old wrappee. Thanks to the sponsor!
