About the label: Viva La Mama Berlin has been founded 2015 by two mamas, Gunda & Katja. They’re not only best friends since primary school, they also both studied law and both gave birth to 3 children almost together! No doubt that they were meant to establish a mom business together!

While they weren’t happy with maternity and nursing clothes that were available on the market, they decided to do it themselves, with the following aim to design…

…clothes which are suitable for every day life, not a cat walk show-off dress made of silk. Clothes which mums like us and you can wear which don‘t look like a circus tent, too big, too shabby and in dull colours. Clothes you can wear with a baby or toddler while doing normal household stuff like going shopping, taking the kids to the playground or dropping them off at pre-school. Clothes you can feel comfortable with and are easy to care for.

Both living in the city, babywearing was essential so they also designed babywearing jackets soon. They’re sewn in Poland.

Viva La Mama Berlin softshell jacket

"MamaTested product: Softshell jacket “Aventuris” in black (also available in navy). Other kind of jackets are available, too.

Can be used for: pregnancy (additional insert) and beyond, front and back carry.

Weather suitability: rain proof, wind proof, breathable. It’s great for spring and autumn days. Combine it with wool or fleece clothes underneath it it’s getting too cold.

Viva La Mama Berlin sizing and use

Sizing: I’m wearing a XL which fitted perfectly (I usually wear XL). The feet of my girl are still covered by the jacket – for a while, I guess.

"MamaHow to use it: It’s really easy… The babywearing coat comes with two inserts – one for pregnancy and one for babywearing to zip in at the front or on the back. There are adjustable hoods for baby and mama, pockets and long arms with warm ribbed cuffs and thumbholes – love it!

Look and feel: The Viva La Mama Berlin jacket is very comfy and well fitted, not too loose, not too slim – just right! The pockets and edgings have a playful black lining with white dots which gives the jacket a nice look and makes it unique.

I already mentioned the cuffs and thumbholes that will keep your hands warm and the practical deep pockets with zipper. The hoods are not detachable but there’s a loop underneath the wearers hood so you can roll it up and tuck it through the loop. This way it won’t disturb your child.

"Mama

Conclusion: Good-looking, comfortable and versatile pregnancy and babywearing coat with perfect sizing and very interesting price-performance ratio. Also looks good when worn without a bump or baby! 😉
