Tested Systems: Petit Lulu SIO Complete, Cover newborn size & Birth to Potty Nappy. Cloth wipes.

Inserts are made of Viscose (bamboo) and Cotton. Covers: Polyester. Fleece Liners come with every product to prevent from humidity.

""Look: Nice designs. Special look of the covers due to the unique Fleece hems, which makes Petit Lulu Covers very recognizable. The Nappys have lovely quillings. SIO Complete as well as Birth to Potty Nappy which needs a cover, make a rather bulky bum, depending on the inserts you use.

Fit: The Newborn Cover with insert fits perfectly. I use it very often. SIO Complete is one size… it’s a bit big yet, as well as the Nappy with Cover. I’ll put it aside for later but you can see them on the pictures below… 🙂

Covers and Nappies are adjustable with snaps.

Practicability: The Cover is really handy to use. Use it with any insert, you can even take the cloth wipes to stuff the diaper and it’s quickly put on the baby with the velcro fastener. Snaps in the inside of the Cover guarantee that the insert will stay in place.

Petit Lulu Birth to Potty Nappy & SIO Complete

The Fleece hems are not only great for baby’s skin but also prevent from leakage. The One Size Birth to Potty Nappy comes with long Booster and needs a cover. The SIO Complete consists of the Cover, one basic insert in the shape of the Cover (to be snapped in) and another, long and foldable insert which can also be snapped in. That’s a big package but great during longer sleeps or travels.

The Birth to Potty Nappy needs a cover and comes with a long, foldable insert to snap in. The Cloth wipes are multifunctional and made of remaining fabric – great idea. You can use them as additional inserts in the diaper, as wipes (dry or wet) or whatever comes to your mind. An eco-friendly solution to put them into your bag when on the road and wash them after use.

Petit Lulu – Newborn Cover is my favourite

""Stay dry: After the first washes, the inserts stay dry around 1-2 hours which should improve after each wash. The covers stay dry and can be used several times. If a bit wet, I hang them to dry till the next nappy change.

Wash and dry: Inserts can be washed up to 60° and tumble dried low. Covers should rather be hanged – tumble drying would shorten their lifespan.

My conclusion: It’s great I’ve been able to test three systems because each one has its advantages. If you’re changing diapers a lot, during the day e.g., the Cover is perfect to use. During the night or longer travels, you need more, so you choose the SIO system or the Nappy with Cover which will provide a long moisture protection.

Petit Lulu Minimal Nappies for EC

At the moment, I use the Newborn Cover daily. I only change the insert when wet, after 2 hours if she doesn’t sleep longer. This is my favourite system at the moment. As soon as she’s grown out, I’ll use the bigger Cover from the SIO system.

Please check the website for the whole product range because there is a whole variation. I’d also love to try the Minimal Nappies for EC training once.
