About Minako

About the company: Minako was founded this year. The name is japanese, meaning “beautiful child”. Minako already has a knack for catchy designs you will remember when you see them. For me, I perceive the appearance of this label as rather sophisticated and elegant. The tester wrap is not just cotton but silk and cashmere. Finest materials for ambitious babywearers.

My first impression: Aww, the wrap is so soft already! Cushy and mid-weight, my daughter saw the wrap and instantly said: “aww, this is my favourite wrap” though she hadn’t seen it before nor do we own it. That was funny. So we wrapped. The design isn’t quite what I’d choose (I love their other designs though) but the colour is appealing – pink, what else? 😉

How does it wear: Wow, it’s comfy, really, even in a Ruck! I took a walk twice wrapping just a Ruck, one layer only, not even tied tibetan and we were fine with that. This is amazing. The wrap has some slight stretch in the lenght which means you might get sure to tighten well before you go for a walk.

Comfortable, soft and supportive

But it’s really really cushy, I want to use it as a blanket, too. 😉 My daughter, not a leightweight, approves and loves to hide in the fabric. This is truely a luxurious feeling. I guess I want silk and cashmere now for every other wrap. 😉

Conclusion: I am really impressed. I love the qualities of this wrap… Comfortable and soft and still supportive and solid enough for my toddler (as long as you’re doing a nice wrap job which I failed at when we were in the snow. But of course it’s not recommendable to wrap with your child stuck in a snow suit. 😉

Tested in november 2015 with 15 kg and almost 4 years old wrappee.
