Solnce Woven Wraps – “Moonchild” test & review

Solnce Moonchild

“Moonchild“ (Pentaweave Tester)

Firma: Solnce (NL)
Material: —
Flächengewicht: heavy! 🙂

About the company: Solnce is not the newest brand of wraps in the babywearing world, but one with constant success. Wraps usually sell in a few secs. I had the luck to score twice if I remember correctly, with not so HSA-wraps. Never again since then. “Genesis” is the signature pattern of Solnce. It’s really lovely and available in a wide range of colours and materials.

My first impression: Oh, this one is heavy and thick, as I’m used to with Solnce, but despite the new ones I had the opportunity to touch, it’s already ultimately soft like a blanket. Usually, Solnce need some time to break in. The tester has seen a lot of people before me, so maybe that’s the reason why it’s so soft. I love the colour combination, too, and the pattern is also really nice.

Solnce Moonchild – great support

How does it wear: I don’t have too many situations to wear my child anymore ’cause she’s 4 already but we did some up’s. This is a solid wrap but I can’t help having my struggle with thick and heavy wraps till the wrap job is done. 😉 I just think it’s too much fabric for me but I know most people with heavier babies and toddlers really appreciate that and, ’cause this wrap is so soft, it’s sure easier to wrap with than usual.

And it’s comfy, offering great support with my heavy “baby”. 😉 I just tried a ruck tied tibetan and was satisfied with that. It has a nice and not too strong bounce which is not disturbing in any way.

Conclusion: I can recommend this wrap for all with heavier babies who love great support. If you tie a knot with such a lot of fabric, it could be easier to use large Sling Rings. And, use a carry that doesn’t gather too much of the fabric in one place.

It might, e.g., not be too comfy to twist this wrap in front of your chest if you know what I mean. 😉 But now, take a look at the pics and look at it’s stunning texture and colourplay!

Tested in december 2015 with 15 kg and 4 years old wrappee.
