Best Bottoms cloth diapers test & review

Best Bottoms diapers

System: SIO (Snap in one), One Size (3-16kg). Available with Snaps or Velcro
Look: Lovely designs and contrast coloured doubled cuffs.

Practicability: BestBottoms are Snap-ins made of PUL (or cotton). You can snap in different inserts with two snaps which guarantees that the inserts will stay in place. You can choose between Velcro or Snaps for the Cover and adjust the size of it with the snaps.

Double-layered hems

How does it fit: the size can be adjusted by snaps but nevertheless those diapers are rather bulky for newborns. Due to the double-layered hems on the legs, they’re still leak-proof. As the material is rather stiff, it’s hard to put on the diaper close to the belly. I’ve been afraid the diaper could leak here but it didn’t happen. I guess it’s important how you fold/put the insert to prevent leakage.

Stay dry: Inserts available in Stay-Dry Microfiber or Hemp/Organic Cotton. Night Boosters available, too. They can be snapped in below the usual insert. I’ve tested the normal inserts and pretty liked them because they absorb the pee and let baby’s bum stay dry for a longer period. When you change nappies, you have to touch the back side of the insert to check if it’s wet.

Microfiber insert dries quickly

Wash and dry: Covers and inserts can be washed at 40° and tumble dried low. I’ve dried the inserts in the air, which happened during one day (hemp) and even quicker (half a day) the Microfiber ones.

My conclusion: A very easy and leak-proof system! Due to the stiffness of the shell, I’d prefer this diaper for bigger babies but the doubled cuffs close pretty well at the legs, no leakage! I can recommend the inserts as they not only stay dry on the bum for a longer period (perfect during car drives, sleep e.g.) but are shaped anatomically for perfect fit.
