Boba wrap – a soft stretchy wrap

babywearing dad / Tragepapa

babywearing dad / Tragepapa Brand: Boba (USA)
Product: stretchy wrap, design “Kantha” (Limited edition, released in oct 2017)
age/weight recommendation: 0-36 months (3,2-16kg)
Material: 95% French Terry Cotton, 5% Spandex

About the Company: Boba has been founded by Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic – real cosmopolits who raised their brand travelling through the world with two kids. Now they have 5 and their company has grown, too, with several employees now. I love their story, read it on their website, here’s one of my favourite quotes:

Challenge is great. Building a business is fun. Contributing something useful to the world is fulfilling. But doing something that you love is the ultimate. We love what we do. As much, if not more, than when we first began.

babywearing dad / Tragepapa My first impression: The Boba wrap arrives in a box in a bag made of the same fabric and design as the wrap itself – nice and handy! 🙂 I love the deep colour and the simple design that suits everyone. As against most other stretchy wraps I’ve been testing, the Boba wrap has a “wrong” side as it’s knitted with a right and a left side and on the left one you can see the white purls. The wrap is soft out of the box, not too thick and has a big amount of stretch towards all sides. Rails are hemmed, tails are narrow and rounded.

Always nice for front cuddles

babywearing dad / Tragepapa How does it wear: Like machine wovens, stretchy wraps also feel and wear a bit different depending brand and material. I let my friends try their wrap with their 5 months old girl when they already were used to the machine wovens but have worn their baby 4 months in (another) stretchy wrap. They say the Boba wrap is stretchier than the other one they were used to but very comfy, too. As with other stretchy wraps, I wouldn’t use them for more than 5-6 months for longer ups and maybe 1-1,5 years for short front cuddles because the baby gets heavy in the front and stretchy wraps usually aren’t safe enough to be used for back carries. But of course they always are a wonderful choice if your toddler needs to be carried in front to settle down. And for newborns, it’s loved by many parents.

Conclusion: Perfect stretchy wrap for newborns with an optimal softness and a good stretch that will make it easy to wrap with.

Tested in august 2018 with a 5 months old girl. Thanks to the sponsor for the opportunity!
Special thanks to my friends and their cute baby for being models for this review in their garden 🙂
