carrier: Limas Flex Full-Buckle/Onbuhimo, model “Sunshine”
Hersteller: Limas (DE)
Panel dimensions: 32-41cm height, 24-46cm width
weight/size recommendation by manufacturer : 3,5-20kg / size 62-104
Attach them to the back panel or hip belt (for tinier babys to avoid pressure on their back). The straps are padded and can be shortened. To adjust them to you while carrying, you can pull them in one direction.
The back panel is adjustable as well in height and width. You can pull out the hip belt to use the carrier as an onbu (just be sure you attach the shoulder straps on the bottom not at the panel). Due to the velcro it takes some effort to pull out the hipbelt as it constantly gets stuck inside.
The headrest is detachable (three buttons) which means you can change its design if you like by buying additional headrests in the shop – nice if you like different looks. As already seen with the other Limas carriers, the neck is adjustable by toggle drawstrings. New: the leg part at the back panel is slightly padded for better comfort for your baby.
I carried her through the zoo for about 2-3 hours and it was really comfy. I also tried the Flex as an Onbu and I can’t say anything bad about it. Usually I get a pain in the shoulders after a while but it wasn’t the case during half an hour.
As already experienced with the Limas Plus, it’s always a question if you can carry a tiny baby with it or not? By shortening the back panel you get quite an amount of space between your baby and the panel – too much space, not enough support. But it really depends on the baby ’cause I’ve seen 2-3 months old babies fitting quite well!
Though, most babywearing consultants say they won’t recommend it before sizes 68 0r 74. I’d say: try it with a consultant and if you’re unsure, wait another 1-2 months. From the moment it supports well, you can really use the Flex or Plus for many, many months!
The Limas Flex is a nice extension or even completion of the baby carrier range Limas offers to babywearing parents, especially for them who prefer buckles.
