About the brand: Mariblum is weaving its slings with organic and fairly grown hemp from and in the EU. The slings are dyed with colours derived from nature. Producing a sustainable product was the aim of Nicole and Hagen, the founders of Mariblum. Using organic hemp as material for the ring slings has different reasons:

  • the fabric is very thin…
  • …yet also very supportive due to the fibres.
  • hemp regulates temperature naturally which makes it an ideal material during warmer days.

My first impression

I’ve already had two Mariblum Ring Slings here. Both were delicate, thin and with a lovely natural colour that suits all. I love how the natural fibres make an unique, uneven structure.

How does it wear

I’ve packed my Mariblum sling for our holidays in Crete and was very happy using it during the short walks in our hotel resort. The hemp sling was perfect for fast and easy ups and with almost no bounce, it provided great support for my toddler. I especially loved how airy the sling was so I didn’t feel sweaty or hot at all while carrying in the heat. It also quickly dried after I’ve carried my daughter in her wet swimsuit.

Compared to Linen Slings I’ve tested, the hemp slings are pretty similar. Linen has slightly more bounce but is also quite supportive. But I had the impression that it’s easier to tighten the hemp sling. Anyway, it’s always a good idea sorting the material through the rings before wearing it.

Conclusion

The Mariblum Ring Sling is a great choice for every babywearer. Especially during warmer days. The characteristics of hemp totally convinced me. Hypoallergenic, temperature regulating, resistand to mould stains and also coming with a natural high UV protection – hemp is perfect for babys. The support of this Ring Sling makes it also awesome with toddlers. Definitely worth a try! 🙂

Tested in july 2019 with my 2,5 years old toddler girl. Thanks to the sponsor
