About Schmusewolke

Schmusewolke is a new star on the babywearing sky. The German brand already released several babywearing products with an interesting price/performance ratio. There are four different carriers available (I hope I’ll be able to test one of them before my girl grows out of it). Besides, there are Ring Slings and wraps. The Schmusewolke baby wraps are available as stretchy, Jacquard, structured and with Muslin. The Ring Slings are available with pleated and hybrid shoulder.

Schmusewolke – smooth, shine & sparkles

My first impression: Both, baby wrap and Ring Sling, have a very smooth texture and slight shine. The Ring Sling sparkles. It’s hard to capture them but they are clearly visible – love it! Off-white and a light violet are nice colours and the design is pleasing as well. I especially love the hearts design. Both look fresh. The fabric glides nicely and is rather thin but densely woven.

How does it wear: I tested both items and let them also test by my husband and a friend. We’ve been quite happy with both. Only hubby, who can’t wrap himself, claimed that the fabric won’t stay on his shoulders and needed a Tibetan finish. But then it was okay for him. The wrap was supportive enough for our two years old – toddler proof! 🙂

I loved the Hybrid shoulder of the Ring Sling. I’m used to pleated shoulders but the Hybrid one is really nice to your shoulders. I’ll for sure keep it here as alternative for my babywearing clients. I often met mamas with sensitive shoulders.

Great weight distribution

Hybrid here means a combination of gathered and pleated. The rails are folded multiple times and sewn together. That way, the weight is distributed very even on your shoulders.

Conclusion: Schmusewolke for sure is a brand you should consider. The good price paired with quality makes their products great for all who are new to babywearing and want to start wrapping their newborns in a easy to handle sling with a lovely design. The material is gliding well, even a bit slippery, please consider this when wrapping your child and choose an accurate carry. Happy babywearing!

Tested in spring 2019 with my 2 years old wrappee and a 1 year old girl. Thanks to Schmusewolke!
