Vaipiri woven wrap test & review

Hanna’s Honeycomb

Brand: Vaipiri (DE)
Material: 100% organic cotton
density: 230 gsm
colours: light pink, white
released: january 2018

About the brand: The first thing I was able to test from Vaipiri was their wrap shampoos. But the young company also produces baby wraps while setting a high value on ecological and sustainable production to protect the environment and save it for our children. The yarns come from certified organic cultivation and breeding.

Quote:

“We use the best yarns because you’re carrying your most precious in them – your child”

My first impression: Vaipiri Hanna’s Honeycomb has a graphic design of big honeycombs combined with a very discreet colouring. The white and lightest pink almost melt together. The difference between the tones is very small. When touching the wrap it doesn’t feel soft, rather rough – with a very low amount of stretch but a lot of grip. It’s quite textured, light and rather thin.

Vaipiri Hanna’s Honeycomb – sturdy at first

How does it wear: As I already expected, the Vaipiri wrap was pretty sturdy. Due to it’s texture it doesn’t glide well and you need to put in some work to tighten but I guess this will get better when the wrap softens up (and it does after several ups ;).

Once your baby is up and the wrap tightened and tied, it stay in plays, solid as a rock. Thus, it’s super supportive even in a one-layer carry with the advantage that it’s easier to tighten. 😉

Conclusion of the Vaipiri test: The wrap isn’t cushy in the beginning, it will need some love to become softer but once tied it works perfect. A great working horse with support for bigger children. I wouldn’t recommend it for newborns. Easy-care organic cotton for a casual appearence. Beautiful with jeans and a white shirt. 😉

Tested in march 2018 with my 14 months old baby. Thanks for the opportunity!
