More than a year ago I’ve been testing the regular Neko Slings carrier. I liked it but it was a pity that the seat couldn’t be adjusted to the baby. So this is why I’ve really been waiting for the new and improved Neko Switch. The seat can be adjusted with a line of buttons but also the panel and the shoulder straps can be varied more now. Still, there’s a toddler version available (from size 86/92 up to school age).
The seat adjustment with snaps is an innovative and nice idea. It comes in handy and stays in place well though there are only two snaps directly on the back panel. It works as well as the adjustment of the panel height. Working with two ways to adjust the shoulder straps can be a bit confusing. It all goes well when your child is on the back. It’s easily to fasten and loosen them. Just be aware of the buckle that is positioned at the panel. The strap here is shorter than the one on the shoulder strap. So, you probably shouldn’t loosen this one too much or you won’t be able to fasten it easily due to the disapperaring strap… I hope you know what I mean 😉
But, while front carrying, you might need to loosen the shorter ones on the panel before putting out your child because you probaly won’t be able to reach the top clips. Just an advice from me… 🙂
When it comes to comfyness, the Neko Switch is really nice. I love the curved waistband which isn’t too soft and reliefs some weight. The shoulder straps are well padded and there’s also a small padded line where baby’s legs come out. My girl is already two years old but when we tested she still had a good seat in the babysized carrier.
Due to the cold weather and her not liking to be worn for longer than a short period, I had to carry her over my jacket and with her winter suit on. This way it wasn’t easy to pull the back panel high enough but be sure, it would have reached at least under her armpits. I’d even say she’d be too tiny yet for the toddler version. I hope I’ll be able to add more pictures when it’s warmer.
Tested with my 2 years old girl, weighing 11kg and wearing size 80. Thanks to the sponsor: Neko Slings AT
