Wrapidil – Half-Buckle with many options to adjust

Wrapidil

Wrapidil Babytrage Carrier: Wrapidil Half-Buckle
Brand:
 Buzzidil (Austria)
Material: 100% (organic) cotton
weight/age recommendation: 3-18 kg

About the company: It was 2010 when we first heard about “Buzzidil“, the brand with the crocodile wearing it’s baby on the back. 🙂 An austrian mother just decided to design her own carrier while she was expecting her third child and didn’t feel that the carrier she already owned was completely convincing her – neither in style nor in functionality.

Years later, Buzzidil is no insider anymore but well known at least in Europe. Designed and made in Europe. And through the years, Buzzidil developped into a nice brand with ergonomic and adjustable carriers and wraps.

Wrapidil Babytrage My first impression: The Wrapidil looks nice and not too bulky but I’m not familiar with this kind of carrier and need to check the manual to learn how to adjust it for my yet tiny baby.

The design is understated, just grey woven fabric, which makes it nice to wear for daddys, too, I guess. But if you check Buzzidil’s site, you’ll see that there are more colourful ones, too. At least, my head support has a lovely application on it. 🙂

Wrapidil: Apron and non apron style possible

How to adjust: Depending on the baby’s size, you can turn the hipbelt up or/and in the tunnel and adjust the croth by gathering the fabric and fix it with straps. Apron and non apron style possible. It sounds a bit difficult that’s why I hardly recommend to take a look into the manual and the pics to get the impression of what you need to do exactly but it’s easy once you’ve done it. There are also videos on the website.

What I love on this one is that, due to the buttons and cords on the head rest you’ve got several possibilities to regulate and adjust the head rest and use it as neck support, too.

Wrapidil Babytrage How does it wear: Really comfy with small padded hipbelt and additional shoulder paddings as well as with the wide shoulder straps. Easy to wear and gives you the possibility to tie it normal or reinforced (last pic at the bottom) with spreading the fabric of the shoulder straps over the back of your child.

I found the reinforced variation distributes the weight more even on your body… The only problem with this one is that it leaves less fabric to tie in the back, maybe not enough for bigger people/with toddlers…

Wrapidil – highly adjustable carrier

Conclusion: A bit complicated in the beginning to adjust the carrier to your baby but with the help of the pictures in the manual, you’ll manage it. Really comfy and easy to put on. Totally ergonomic with wrap fabric and highly adjustable. Recommendable for newborns as well as for bigger children (later on the back).

A bit confusing due to several loops, straps, buttons and cords but you’ll soon learn their function which offers a wide range of adjustment and support for your baby/child – really clever! The most subtle and elaborated carrier I’ve used so far… 🙂

Tested in february/march 2017 with my baby girl. Many thanks to Buzzidil for the testing possibility!
