The BuzziTai is a Hybrid carrier that switches from Full- to Half-Buckle and back. As far as I know, this is the first carrier on the market with this options in one piece. Buzzidil already has another Hybrid in its range: the BuzziBu that transforms from Full-Buckle to Onbuhimo and back.

BuzziTai test – my first impression

BuzziTai Facette The BuzziTai looks really nice with the usual adjustments and details we already know from the standard Buzzidil carriers. The only thing that surprised me was that the hip belt is way softer and seems to be thinner as well. On the first glimpse the BuzziTai may look a bit complicated with its many options but it’s easy to handle – give it a chance!

Combining a Half- and a Full-Buckle in one carrier is a great choice because you’ll be able to offer a carrier that’s perfect for newborns but also one that gives more support when you’re child grows. As soon as your baby starts to sit, crawl or walk, it’s safe attaching the shoulder straps to the back panel and using the carrier as a Full-Buckle.

How to transform the BuzziTai

BuzziTai Träger The shoulder straps have two sewn on flaps with velcro. To transform into a Full-Buckle you fold them and close the flaps around the folded material. As a next step, put the additional chest belt around the straps and attach the buckles to the back panel. There’s a video from Buzzidil that shows these steps:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGzCAXuJeTM. To switch back, you use the flaps to hide the buckles.

The swith is really fast and easy once you understand how to. Just pay attention on the folding of the shoulder straps when using the carrier as a Full-Buckle. A neat folding and fixing will prevent them from slipping out…

How does the BuzziTai fit and wear

BuzziTai Detail I’ve been really surprised how comfy the BuzziTai ist – in both options! I usually prefer well padded hip belts but could handle this one as well. Used as Full-Buckle, the shoulder straps were perfect and stayed in place very well. I even felt no need for the chest-belt.

Also used as Half-Buckle, I dind’t miss a thing though maybe wider shoulder straps would have been perfect. They make a prettier look when tied tibetan and can be used for a reinforced seat.

My daughter is 3 years old already but as you can see, the carrier still fits her perfectly – including the knee-to-knee-support and back panel reaching her upper back. She’s wearing size 98.

Conclusion of my BuzziTai test

Awesome and very versatile carrier for parents who aim for a product that lasts for a longer time or parents with siblings that are both carried from time to time. With one carrier you’ll be able to have a comfortable and ergonomic solution for a newborn as well as for a toddler. Besides, there are all the needed options to adjust the carrier to any sizing of the wearer which also makes it a great choice for babywearing parents with different preferences (e.g. mom loves a Half-Buckle and dad prefers a Full-Buckle).

Have you tried the BuzziTai? What are your opinions on this clever carrier? For me it’s one of the hybrid carriers on the market that really convinced me and that I’d highly recommend…
