It was on Instagram when I’ve heard about “Coolawoola” for the first time and knew I had to get one of the beautiful wool coats for myself as they don’t only look unique, they also are unique.
I just wrote an email to founder Lena Majewska from Poland and ordered a coat in my colour preferences and size. It was as easy as that and she was very lovely to chat with.
Coolawoola isn’t only available as a coat but also as skirt and as Mini-Coolawoola for your kid (they look very pretty!) The clothes are a composition of woolen knits recycled for re-sewing:
After recreating, they gain new function and charm to please their new owners with surprising forms. Our coolawoolas are made of cast-off woolen sweaters (pure new wool, merino, angora, cashmere, sometimes blended with tiny amounts of cotton, viscose or acrylic). In order to make a coolawoola, we cut, disassemble and reassemble funny colorful forms.
While I love the sustainable aspect of Coolawoola coats, they’re also very warm and big enough to use during pregnangcy or babywearing because you can easily cover your baby on the front <3 I think they’re perfect for cold winter days 🙂
The fit is rather loose, remember this when you order your size. Now, have a look:
Wir lieben Coolawoola – und Ihr? We love Coolawoola – how about you?
