About the company: Maisaa Slings was founded by Laura Jongbloed, a dutch mama living in Germany. When she discovered how much she loves babywearing with her second child, she soon had the idea to design her own wraps. It took some time to run the business but now she’s in, together with a friend who draws the patterns. About the name: “Maisaa means walking proud. When are we prouder then when we are wearing our little ones?”, you can read this on her website 🙂
Because Maisaa Slings is a young company, there aren’t too many designs available yet but follow the chatter group on facebook if you want to know first what will come in and maybe help deciding on new patterns 😉

Maisaa Slings babywearing review babywrap My first impression: Totally my colour but I was really surprised by the touch of the wrap. It has a concise structure which lets the wrap feel grippy. It’s not soft but mouldable. I had to give it a wash first and now it needs some more breaking-in.
I really love the design, by the way. Modern, a little bit edgy maybe, you’ll sure be an eye-catcher wearing it 😉

How does it wear: There’s quite an amount of stretch, a slide and glide, which makes it easy to wrap but hard to tighten with a moving toddler on your back 😉 I only did a Ruck because of the size of the wrap and had to adjust the carry 2-3 times until I ended in finishing the Ruck tibetan with the last amount of fabric but that worked better for us and gave enough support 😉
I didn’t have that problem with my doll, of course, but as you can see, it’s a lot of fabric and a wrap a bit too thick for a newborn.

Conclusion: Use this wrap with your heavier baby or toddler and you’ll love it. The grip is great and it’s bouncy, too, I’d just recommend to buy a long enough wrap for multilayer-carries to prevent your wrap from sliding. Once tightened and tied, the support is really good. I wouldn’t use it with newborns because of its density and too much fabric 😉

Tested in october 2016 with my babywearing doll and soon to be 5 years old wrappee and 28-weeks-preggo-bump.
