My first impression: While Sjala is pretty exclusive featuring natural designs and wonderful colours, “Mini” will have a more urban and playful look. I haven’t tried a Sjala yet which means I cannot compare to the main line. But Mini is really lovely. The cats are designed by illustrator “majasbok” from Stockholm and though I don’t like cats, I love these really funny ones. After a wash, the wrap feels mid-weight, not too soft yet and mid-thick.
How does it wear: Though meant for Newborns, Purrfect wraps fantastic with my already 11 months old baby. The wrap has a nice grip & glide also and supports great in a Ruck. It’s suitable with multi-layer carries as well and for front cuddles of course. I found it’s rather slippery on the shoulders, especially when worn above a jacket, so I tied tibetan.
Conclusion: Sjala Mini “Purrfect” is the perfect wrap for beginners, adding some urban feeling with this playful meowy design. The wrap is quite soft and moldable out of the bag which makes it nice for newborns but it’s not too thin and goes well with bigger babies, too. I guess it will also bring enough support with toddlers in multi-layer carries. I’m looking forward to more news of Sjala Mini! 🙂
